Sarah Mills says parents are probably breathing a sigh of relief as kids head back to school after the Easter break.
Regina city council unanimously voted for a two per cent hike in utility rates at the meeting on Monday.
This comes after city administration released the proposed 2018 utility budget earlier this month, which showed a potential $132.8 million in revenue from the rate increase.
The funds generated will go towards infrastructure renewal, to pay off debt and to add to the General Utility Fund Reserve.
The average household will see roughly $2.70 tacked onto their monthly water bill or around $32.37 extra annually.
The rate increase will take effect Jan. 1, 2018.
