Now I know why I don’t like soccer.
It’s because the schedule never ends. We never have a chance to miss it. It seems like there’s a soccer game of some importance being televised every hour of every day.
Even hockey recesses for a month or two in the summer. Baseball sort of disappears with the snow.
I think the English Premier League and the French league are in full swing. Bundesliga, Series A, Europa League, Champions League all have soccer games posted these days.
And MLS is officially a year-round endeavour, covering every month. Toronto FC won the MLS championship earlier in December. MLS teams open their training camps in January. MLS teams have friendlies scheduled in February.
TFC’s fans, who were so upset about the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts sharing BMO Field with the soccer team, destroyed portions of the grandstand during their 2-0 championship win over Seattle. BMO employees better get those seats fixed quickly, before TFC’s next game.
