'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
A man was airlifted to hospital by STARS following a small plane crash just a few kilometres southeast of Kelliher, about 45 minutes north of Fort Qu’Appelle.
The pilot crashed into a ravine in a remote area northwest of Ituna and was lucky to be found.
“No one would have seen him, probably until winter time, until we would snowmobile in that area,” said Darcy King.
He said a man driving a fuel truck saw the plane go down. The volunteer fire department was called out, but needed King to help get there with his ATV.
“We managed to get the pilot out of the plane and waited for the STARS ambulance to come,” said King.
Police say the man was the only person in the plane and it’s not known how serious his injuries are.
