The Regina Police Service has identified the victim of the city’s latest murder.
The body of Matthew John Wells was found in a home on Robinson Street in the early-morning hours of Oct. 22. He was 48 years old.
Police were first called to the home near Mosaic Stadium at 3:40 a.m. about someone who had been hurt. When officers and EMS arrived, they found Wells already dead.
Police have previously indicated they believe shots had been fired, and the suspect or suspects had fled the scene.
RPS have not released the cause of death. They say no charges have been laid at this point in connection to Wells’ death.
Police are also continuing to investigate another possible shooting that happened around the same time on Robinson Street. It is not believed at this point that the two are related, however RPS has said they are not ruling a connection out.
