Man tries to rob bank in Elfros

Wynyard RCMP are looking for a man who allegedly tried to rob a business in Elfros — 185 kilometres north of Regina — Friday morning.

RCMP received a call just after 8:30 a.m. about an attempted armed robbery at the Cornerstone Credit Union on Front Avenue.

The suspect — carrying a gun — failed to gain entry to the business and ran away. No one was hurt.

A 1990s off-white or dirty white mid-size General Motors vehicle was seen near the business less than an hour prior to the attempted robbery and may be connected to the incident.

The suspect is described as being 5’5″ to 5’9″ dressed in black, wearing a hoodie covering his head and a red/white bandana covering his face.
