Hundreds of people gathered on Albert Street in south Regina Sunday afternoon waiting for a glimpse of Santa Claus. The feeling wasn’t very festive with no snow on the ground, but most loved it.
“It’s pretty incredible that it’s this warm in November, we’re so lucky,” said one woman.
The temperature hovered around 10 C at the time of the parade, then shot up to the high of 13 C in the few hours after.
“We are super excited about how beautiful it is for the parade, although Santa with no snow ‘kinda sucks,” laughed another woman.
“Green Christmas! That’s what we need,” quipped one man.
The less than Christmas-y temperatures didn’t dampen the spirits of the people in the parade. The bands played loud and proud, several dance and baton troupes wowed the crowd with their moves, and costumed marchers like Spiderman and Pikachu warmed up the kids in the crowd for the main event, Santa Claus.
