A young Regina man is facing charges after police found a handgun and cocaine in a vehicle.
The Regina Police Service says officers pulled over a vehicle on Broad Street at 5:10 a.m. Saturday. As officers approached the vehicle, it drove away.
Police didn’t chase the vehicle, but found it abandoned on the 200 block of Osler Street a few minutes later. The 23-year-old man allegedly driving the vehicle was found hiding in a nearby yard and arrested.
Officers searched the vehicle and found a .357-calibre handgun and eight grams of cocaine.
Abdullahi Moalin, 23, faces seven charges including evading police, unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
