A Regina man has been arrested following a rush-hour car-jacking.
Police were called just before 6 p.m. Wednesday about a man with a machete who stole a vehicle.
The car-jacking took place on the 4300 block of Dewdney Avenue near Lewvan Drive.
One of the vehicle’s occupants was assaulted with the machete during the robbery and suffered minor injuries as a result.
Police then received a call about the stolen vehicle being seen near Grand Coulee, driving erratically.
Police, along with RCMP, located the vehicle in a field near Highway 1. A spike belt was used to stop the vehicle.
A 27-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody.
He’s facing several charges including drunk driving, robbery and assault with a weapon.
He made his first court appearance on Thursday.
