Sports media, so we’ve gone full TMZ, have we? Well, it sadly appears that way.
On Thursday, the headline read ‘nothing behind team photo speculation,’ referring to Ottawa’s team photo.
You see there seemed to be some uncomfortable moments with Erik Karlsson sitting next to GM Pierre Dorion and owner Eugene Melnyk. Maybe uncomfortable is the wrong word. They definitely weren’t saying much.
So fire up the speculation.
C’mon now.
Team photos can take upwards of 20 minutes or so and that’s a lot of sitting around. Getting cameras ready. Making sure everybody smiles. No blinking.
You know what it’s like to take a family picture if there is a large group. Yeah, sometimes it can get a little bit tiresome.
And, yeah, maybe Karlsson doesn’t have much to say to either man after what happened over the trade deadline. Would anyone blame him?
But again. Karlsson had to answer questions about a team photo.
You wonder which will drive him out of Ottawa first. The team or the media.
