Wednesday is the kick off to NFL Free Agency and the biggest name, who will make the biggest money is quarterback Kirk Cousins.
You know… the ‘you like that’ guy whose famous post-game phrase went viral.
Well, Cousins has already waved goodbye to Washington. And now will he sign with Minnesota, the Jets, Arizona or Denver? Those seem to be the four favourites, ranked by the position of most likely.
Cousins is good. But great? Deserving of the highest contract in football? Not on your life.
So these teams are going to pay dearly for a quarterback, while likely hurting themselves on the back end when their current young stars need contracts.
Look at Seattle after Russell Wilson got his money. Gone are some pro bowl players and their depth takes a hit.
I’m not going to blame Cousins for taking the money. Who wouldn’t say yes to $30 million a season?
But don’t be quick to call whoever lands him the winner for NFL Free Agency, because it may make them the loser in the long run.
