Billets were found for all Red Wings players in just four hours.
The minor leagues of baseball are going to be the canary for a few new rules.
One of these is a change to extra innings. Teams will now start extra innings with a player on second base. A free double to start extra innings.
How ridiculous is this?
Well, how about we change the rules in overtime for other leagues. In hockey, why not have both teams start overtime with no goaltenders.
In football, why not allow the offence to have one more player than the defence.
And here is one for basketball to make sure games end earlier… first basket wins.
I understand the need to try to speed up games or to ensure that games don’t take 17 or 18 innings.
But if baseball wants to take a page out of hockey’s ridiculous shootout. Home run derbies after 12 innings!
