A recall notice has been put out for two children’s books, “That’s not my reindeer”, and “That’s not my Santa” after a report of mould found in one of the books.
The books are full-coloured children’s board books, with tactile elements, including fabric.
The manufacturer, Usbourne Publishing, got a report of mold found in one shipment in the UK, which kicked off a recall of the rest. As of Tuesday afternoon, neither Health Canada, nor HarperCollins Publishers had any reports of incidents or injuries related to the products in Canada.
About 1,500 copies of “That’s not my reindeer” and 80 copies of “That’s not my Santa” were sold across Canada between July and November this year.
According to Health Canada, anyone who’s bought one of these books should immediately take them from children, and return them to where they were bought for a full refund.
For “That’s not my reindeer” the batch number is 01848/14, and the ISBN is 9781409556046. For “That’s not my Santa” the batch number is 01851/10, and the ISBN is 9781409537250.
