To mark the 125th anniversary of Government House in Regina, a new crown-shaped pendant has been unveiled.
“The symbol of the Crown is the perfect choice to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of Government House as this magnificent heritage site has many royal connections,” said Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, Vaughn Solomon Schofield.
It is made of shimmering crystal, set in silver-plated brass. The pendant can be worn as a brooch or on a chain. It was designed by Hillberg & Berk. This isn’t the first brush with the Crown the Regina jewelry designers have had; they also designed a brooch for Queen Elizabeth II.
The pendant costs $125 plus tax, is available at Government House, and all profits go to the Government House Historical Society, which supports the museum.
Government House was built in 1891, and was the office of the Lieutenant Governor until 1945. It has been restored to the late 19th, and early 20th century and is currently being operated as a museum.
