Video of a violent assault posted on YouTube has caught the attention of the Saskatoon Police Service.
Warning: The video shows a violent assault and the images may be hard to watch
Over the weekend a YouTube video surfaced showing a violent assault in front of a business in Sutherland’s main strip.
The video shows two large men, repeatedly assaulting two other men on the sidewalk on Central Avenue. One man is seen being knocked to the ground after being punched in the side of the head from behind. Another man is thrown into a nearby parked car and then repeatedly kicked in the head and stomped on.
On Monday, police said the incident happened on Nov. 28 in the 900 block of Central Avenue and they have turned the video over to detectives who are now looking to speak to the victims involved and any witnesses who saw the assault. In the video signs for Dino’s Bar and Grill and Venice House can be seen.
A spokesperson for Dino’s Bar and Grill said the larger men in the video have worked at Specklebelly’s in the past, saying they were frequently seen outside smoking during break-times. He added Dino’s doesn’t employ bouncers.
A representative from Specklebelly’s said the two larger men in the video haven’t been employed with the brewpub since new owners took over in September 2015.
Despite social media posts apologizing about the incident saying it’s been dealt with, Specklebelly’s said the incident did not involved their establishment.
We’re deeply apologetic about the situation on central ave. Investigations are underway and will be resolved asap. #yxe
