You can avoid traffic and parking while giving a bit of money to charity in Regina this weekend by taking a ride on the Jingle Bus.
Regina Transit and Rawlco Radio are teaming up to offer free transit services on all buses around the city from Friday to Sunday. Instead of regular fare, buses will collect donations for the Regina Food Bank and Salvation Army.
“These are two charities that do so much for our community,” said Mayor Michael Fougere. “This is the time of giving this year and this is the best way to do it.”
Fougere encourages everyone to consider taking the bus this weekend, noting that it will be a convenient way to finish holiday shopping.
“Think about it, now that you can make a donation,” he said. “The transit system is really effective and an easy way to get around. You don’t have to worry about parking downtown, finding a place to park; just jump on the bus.”
Rawlco Radio will be matching all donations collected by transit over the course of the weekend.
