4 men charged after Saskatoon home invasion leads to shooting death

Saskatoon police arrested four men in connection to a home invasion that led to the shooting death of a man on Garrison Crescent in October.
 
On Oct. 14, police were called to a home in the 300 block of Garrison Crescent following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found a 25-year-old Corey Favel dead from a gunshot wound.
 
Two months later, four men have been arrested in relation to this case. Police believe the four men and the deceased were part of a home invasion, and that’s when the victim was shot by someone in the house. Police said the person who fired the gun will not be charged.

Police tell CKOM News the Garrison Crescent home was the subject of a drug investigation. Anita Lynn Favreau, 43, faces five charges including trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine, and possession of the proceeds of crime. She is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

Twenty-nine-year-old Dustin Sand was arrested at the Prince Albert Provincial Correctional Centre. He faces a manslaughter charge for unlawfully causing the death of Favel. Police also arrested 22-year-old Cody Favel in Regina, 23-year-old Nathaniel Narula in Saskatoon and 20-year-old Nicholas MacLeod in Carlyle, Sask. Four men face charges of robbery with a firearm, using an imitation firearm during an offence, possession of a weapon, break and enter and wearing a mask or disguise while committing an offence.

Sand appeared in court on Friday. Favel, Narula and MacLeod made court appearances earlier this month and have been remanded into custody.
