Over 3,000 stuffed animals were tossed onto the ice.
A group of 18 SaskTel employees from Saskatoon got an early Christmas present.
The team of co-workers won $1 million dollars in the Dec. 11 LOTTO MAX draw.
Speaking for the group, Don Hamel and Gerald Friesen said the win has made this holiday season extra special.
“It makes it a lot easier, the stress is definitely gone,” said Hamel.
“My bills are paid,” said Friesen.
The pair explained that they’ve been buying tickets for as many as 25 years.
Previously, the most they’d ever won was $197.
“This was one of the lucky ones. We’ve always joked about it, ‘what are you going to do when we win big’ and this and that,” Hamel said.
Friesen said they’d be splitting the prize evenly. Each person will get about $55,000.
