Bauer Hockey Corporation is recalling three types of goalie masks sold in Canada and the U.S. over the past two years.
The hockey equipment company has had nine reports of titanium wire cages breaking on impact when hit with a puck.
The recall includes the following goalie helmets in senior sizes.
- Bauer Concept C1 Goal Mask with certified titanium oval wire
- Bauer NME 10 Goal Mask with certified titanium oval wire
- Bauer RP NME Ti titanium cage
Health Canada issued the recall for about 1,300 goalie masks sold in Canada and 1,200 sold in the U.S. between April 2013 and December 2015. For more information on the description of the goalie masks, visit this link on the Health Canada website.
Health Canada itself has not received any reports of injuries with this product, but the company had reports of minor injuries due to cages breaking.
