A 30-year-old man with a history of violent sex offences has been arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.
Regina police warned the public about Philip Lionel Levac back in November when he was released to live in North Central. At the time, they warned he was considered a high risk to reoffend and had a history of committing violent sex crimes as a youth and adult.
Police responded to a complaint on April 15 from someone who reported seeing Levac in the company of a teenage girl.
He was arrested Wednesday at his residence and charged with two counts of sexual assault along with two counts of sexual interference against a minor.
Levac is also charged with four counts of breaching his probation conditions.
In November, police made it clear Levac had never completed any programming to address his risk factors to re-offend while serving his previous sentence.
Reports emerged on social media back in December that Levac may have been using the Tinder dating app when a profile appeared with his photo. At the time police said they were unable to confirm if he had created his own profile.
Levac will appear in Provincial Court Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
