Three men are facing charges in connection with what police describe as a “smash and grab” style robbery at the Co-op in Lafleche last Wednesday.
At 10:15 p.m. on Dec. 30, police responded to an alarm at the local Co-op gas bar in Lafleche. Surveillance video from the store shows a pick-up truck ramming into the glass door of the building.
Police say three male suspects can be seen grabbing 52 cartons of cigarettes and a large quantity of alcohol from the shelves and throwing it all in the back of the truck before driving away.
RCMP posted the surveillance video to YouTube and Facebook and that led to a tip from a witness.
On New Year’s Day, police executed search warrants at the houses of three suspects and recovered the stolen goods.
Sheldon Cox, 35, from Limerick is facing charges for break and enter, theft over $5,000, possession of break and enter tools and possession of stolen property.
