You don’t often get warnings about thin ice in Saskatchewan in January, but police are warning people to be careful driving on any lake or pond this year.
RCMP said a 1999 Ford Expedition SUV broke though the ice on Last Mountain Lake by Rowan’s Ravine Thursday morning. The tires broke though the ice but the vehicle was held up by the frame. The driver was able to get out and walk away safely.
RCMP are reminding people the ice is still thin in some places so be aware when driving on any ice surface.
