I hope Drake doesn’t get muzzled after getting into it with Kendrick Perkins.
The rapper was going back and forth with the injured centre for the Cavaliers in game one. It got heated to the point Drake was following Perkins down the tunnel with some language not suitable for all audiences.
The thing here is Drake isn’t just a fan. He’s part of the staff for the Raptors. He’s their world ambassador and is tasked to carry the brand as far and wide as possible.
Now he is as big a story out of game one as the Raptors blowing a lead and losing to Cleveland in overtime.
But Drake, Spike Lee with the Knicks, Jack Nicholson with the Lakers. This is part of basketball seeing which big-name celeb is sitting inches away from the court and having back and forths with the stars of the game.
I loved the Spike Lee, Reggie Miller rivalry from the 90s.
Drake and the Raptors and the Cavs and NBA are in the entertainment business so keep it up!
It definitely adds to the dynamic of the series, though Perkins and Drake likely won’t score any of the points or touch the ball.
