He may no longer be a Roughrider, but what happens to all the perks Weston Dressler had in Regina?
Like all Roughrider fans, Carlo Giambattista at the Italian Star Deli in Regina was reeling for a few moments with word that both John Chick and Weston Dressler suddenly were no longer members of his favourite football team.
“It was a shocker, man,” Giambattista said. “You can’t sit there and fathom that that happened.”
He named a special sandwich “the Weston Dressler” at his popular store after the star receiver when Dressler returned to the Green and White in 2014 — and promised it would be free for Dressler for life.
“We love Weston and we love his family. He’s got a sandwich named after him and it’s still going to stay there.”

Giambattista does say Weston could well be coming back to town playing for a different team - but he still gets the sandwich anyway. He does worry that Dressler will come back wearing another teams uniform and “spank us”.
If that happens, the Weston Dressler number seven sandwich – double meat on facaccia bread – will still be there.
“We can always flip the board around,” Giambattista added with a laugh. “It’s a two-sided chalkboard.”
