Police have released more details on the crash that killed a man near Yorkton on Friday.
The crash happened on Highway 9, about three kilometres north of Yorkton, before 4:30 p.m.
According to the RCMP, The Chevrolet Impala was heading south when it crossed the centre line and crashed with a northbound semi.
There were two people in the car at the time. The 59-year-old man in the passenger’s seat was ejected from the car and died on scene. The 30-year-old man driving had to be extracted from the car by emergency crews. The 30-year-old was taken to the hospital in Yorkton, then transferred to the Regina General Hospital by STARS Air Ambulance – RCMP said he had several fractures.
Police said the driver of the semi only suffered minor injuries.
There’s no indication alcohol was a factor, and the RCMP said both men in the car were wearing seatbelts.
