This is one of the most likeable final fours in the Stanley Cup Playoffs that I can remember.
For me, there has always been a team or a team with a player that I didn’t exactly care for but with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Washington Capitals, Winnipeg Jets and Vegas Golden Knights, there are a lot of storylines to love in the final four.
Steven Stamkos trying to win his first cup, same for Alexander Ovechkin or the Cinderella stories of the Winnipeg Jets or Vegas Golden Knights.
We knew Winnipeg would be decent this season but no one was predicting the Jets to be the second-best team in the NHL and into the conference final and you know the story of the first year Golden Knights.
The Saskatchewan connections are all there for all four teams and they are all quality hockey teams. In fact, the final four is made up of teams that all finished in the top six overall in the league.
And Winnipeg had the best record of them all. Does that mean they’re the favourite?
Of course it does, or at least it should.
