Ahead of their first free-agent camp this weekend, the Saskatchewan Roughriders have beefed up their depth chart.
American defensive back Curtis Brown, American defensive end Ryan Jones, American offensive lineman Joseph Treadwell and American running back Devrin Young all signed with the Riders on Tuesday.
Terms of the deals were not released.
Brown joins the Riders after being part of the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2011-2013 playing in 34 games where he recorded 44 tackles. Brown was originally drafted in the third round by the Steelers in the 2011 draft. The Texas native was at New York Jets training camp last season playing in one pre-season game before being released.
The 27-year-old played four seasons at the University of Texas playing 52 games where he registered 120 tackles, 35 special teams tackles and two interceptions.
Jones comes to Saskatchewan after three seasons at Montana Tech. Over that time, the Reno, Nevada native picked up 127 tackles and 10.5 sacks. Jones went undrafted before signing with the Baltimore Ravens in 2013.
Treadwell heads north after spending time on the Houston Texans practice squad. Before that, the Jacksonville, Florida native started 48 games at both left and right tackle at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Young joins the Riders fresh out of the college from Tennessee. Young played in 33 games for the Volunteers where he had a combined 1,855 in kick-off and punt return yards. Young added another 204 rushing yards on 50 carriers and 18 catches for 144 yards and two touchdowns offensively.
