A Saskatoon man was sentenced to five years in prison in connection to several armed robberies in late 2015.
Christopher James Seed, 21, pleaded guilty to nine counts of armed robbery and one count of wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an indictable offence in Saskatoon Provincial Court Monday.
The robberies happened between Oct. 31 and Nov. 13. They included a Subway restaurant at the intersection of Idylwyld Drive and 33rd Street on Nov. 3 and the Stop N Go Confectionery on Wedge Road in the Dundonald neighbourhood the next day.
Seed started the robbery spree at a hotel in the Stonebridge neighbourhood on Cope Way on Oct. 31, according to police. He robbed the same hotel again on Nov. 8, just hours after a failed attempt to rob the Taco Time on 22nd Street.
His final robbery was on Nov. 13 in the Blairmore area on Betts Avenue and ended with his arrest.
In total, Seed committed nearly one armed robbery a day for two straight weeks. A BB gun was used each time, but no one was hurt, court heard.
As a result of his sentence, Seed had to provide a DNA sample and is banned from firearms for 10 years.
