Regina police were called to a collision at the corner of Albert Street and Victoria Avenue Monday night after the occupants of one of the vehicles fled the scene.
Police were called about the three-vehicle collision around 7:15 p.m. A vehicle had rear-ended a vehicle stopped at a red light – which then hit a third vehicle. The people who ran from the scene fled from the first vehicle, where officers found a firearm.
Paramedics were called to the scene of the collision, but the injuries were described as minor.
Officers went to the address on the registration and arrested a 30-year-old woman.
Leandra Lynn Newman is charged with careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and prohibited device, failure to stop at the scene of a collision, driving while impaired, and refusing to provide a sample.
