A 31-year-old man faces charges in connection to a series of armed robberies last week.
Around 2:30 a.m. Friday, two men walked into a restaurant in the 2200 block of 22nd Street West, pointed a gun and drove off with stolen money and booze.
When police arrived, they got descriptions of the men and their car. A few minutes later, officers spotted the car near 33rd Street West and Avenue P. The 31-year-old and a 32-year-old inside matched the descriptions of the robbers and police arrested them during a traffic stop.
Further investigation led police to believe the 31-year-old was also involved in three more solo armed robberies including convenience stores in the 200 block of Central Avenue and 1000 block of 8th Street East on Feb 10 and a gas station in the 1600 block of Idylwyld Drive North on Feb. 11.
In each case, a man went into the store alone armed with a gun and with his face covered. The 31-year-old now faces four counts of Armed Robbery and Conceal Identity. He will appeared in Provincial Court on Feb.18, at 10:30 a.m.
Police continue to investigate.
