Final designs of Sask.'s new P3 schools revealed

Students who will be attending 18 new Saskatchewan schools slated to open next year now have a better idea of where they’ll be learning.

The final design of the nine new buildings were revealed on Monday. Each of the buildings features a public and a Catholic elementary school, with areas dedicated to each. The buildings also have a shared core area joining the two sides.

The government says the schools – six in Regina, eight in Saskatoon, and two each in Martensville and Warman – are designed to accommodate more than 11,000 students in total. Each building will also house a 90-space child care centre and community space.

On Monday, webcams were also launched that allow the public to check out the construction of all nine joint-use buildings. Construction remains on schedule, with the schools scheduled to open in September 2017.

The schools are being constructed through a Public-Private Partnership (P3).
