Regina police are asking for the public’s help after a 49-year-old man suffered stab wounds on the weekend.
Police were dispatched around 2:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of a man who had been stabbed. The man had come into the hospital emergency unit with injuries consistent with being assaulted with a knife or sharp object.
Police said the preliminary investigation indicated assault occurred at a campground east of the city. The man was visiting with a friend at one of the campsites and was moving to a different site when he was attacked.
As the man was walking, he was struck on the head by one or multiple people who attempted to rob him of his wallet.
He was unable to describe his attackers.
The injuries were treated at hospital.
Police have not been able to identify any potential suspects as of Monday afternoon.
