There was Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy and the lesser known 24-year-old Xander Schauffele.
While Tiger fell off the pace with a double bogey, followed by a bogey and was tied for sixth when all things were said and done, seeing that red shirt and the roar and the gallery is all good for golf. Woods just being in the race draws in the interest.
Meanwhile, let’s recognize Francesco Molinari’s victory. Playing with Tiger on Sunday is no easy task with those galleries moving around. Molinari went bogey-free on the weekend on a course with some of the toughest holes in the world. And he’s the first Italian to win a major.
It was another great Sunday for golf fans.
