Yeah, I picked the Riders to win.
I was met with a quizzical look from Darrell Davis when he saw I was the only analyst on CFL.ca to pick the Riders to upset the Eskimos.
He pondered whether I was trying to score points with the team after nobody picked them over the last three weeks.
Nope.
With Zach Collaros back throwing the football and likely throwing it a little farther downfield than Brandon Bridge and Duron Carter back to the receiving corps and Nick Marshall returning to the defence, things are looking up for a team who did hold in against the Stamps after spotting them 24-0.
They won’t be down by that much to Edmonton.
Also, the Eskimos defence has trouble stopping the run, which is the area of the game the Riders have been at their best.
Ball control on the ground and a defence to slow down the high flying Eskimos passing game, I actually don’t think picking an upset is that unreasonable.
Riders 24. Eskimos 20.
