Saskatchewan’s 28th general election is officially underway.
On Tuesday morning, Premier Brad Wall met with the lieutenant-governor in Saskatoon to sign the paper that officially dissolves the legislature and marks the beginning of the election campaign.
The leader of the Sask. Party made the official visit before an appearance at Ken Cheveldayoff’s campaign office in the Bridge City.

For other parties in the province, the campaign had already begun. The NDP already made official platform announcements, including bringing the film tax credit back and a focus on mental health.
The other parties – the Green Party, Progessive Conservatives and the Saskatchewan Liberals – also began to ramp up their campaigns.
Three more seats are up for grabs in this election. The Saskatchewan Party currently holds 49 seats in the legislature; the NDP has nine.
