I feel like a broken record.
The theme to assessing this 2018 Roughriders team has been this: they have the defence and the special teams to win, but do they have the offence?
Will the offence ever get going?
Well after 14 weeks and 12 games, is it safe to answer that question? Through 12 games the offence does not have one game in which they produced over 400-yards. Not one.
There is only one other offence in the CFL who can say that right now. Montreal. That is not good company.
With a playoff path that looks like it is most likely going up against Edmonton and then Calgary, do you think this offence has what it takes to beat Mike Reilly and then Bo Levi Mitchell in back to back weeks when it matters most?
I found it ironic that Darian Durant was in the stadium to watch on Saturday as he is a significant person in this offensive drought. As Chris Jones has been unable to find the next quarterback for this franchise since he traded Durant. Kevin Glenn was too old, Zach Collaros doesn’t look like the guy either. Jones has found receivers, running backs, o-line and defensive backs and linebackers… even a kicker. But not a quarterback. And it’s a major piece missing on what could be a championship team.
