Kamsack RCMP are searching for a man who escaped while in custody at a hospital Sunday evening.
Mounties said they arrested Tyson Cote, 26, around 2:30 p.m. Saturday after an assault at a home on the Cote First Nation.
On Sunday, while in custody, Cote complained of a medical issue, so he was taken to Kamsack hospital.
Around 5 p.m., police said Cote fled the hospital in an unknown direction.
RCMP describe Cote as a thin, 5’8″ man. He’s around 170 pounds with brown hair and eyes.
Cote is facing a number of charges, including assault.
Mounties don’t believe Cote poses a threat to public safety, but they advise people not to approach him.
Anyone with information as to Cote’s whereabouts is asked to contact Kamsack RCMP at 306-542-5560 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
