Regina city council to hear concerns about proposed seniors' complex

Mayor Michael Fougere is prepared to hear voices of opposition to a proposed new facility for seniors’ housing in north Regina.

Speaking with the CJME Morning Show, Fougere said city council is discussing the new complex from Eden Care Communities Tuesday evening. The application for the nine and 10-storey buildings has already been approved by the city’s planning commission.

“There will be discussions about that,” Fougere said.

“There are no delegations speaking to it but I know there have been some concerns from residents who live in the area, as you might expect, you know, shadowing is one issue, but certainly the size of the building.”

The proposed building would go up at 5th Avenue North and Broad Street.
