A 27-year-old Regina woman is facing second-degree murder charges in the death of a man on the Muskowekwan First Nation.
Punnichy RCMP said officers received a report of an unresponsive man in a home on the First Nation, located west of Yorkton, Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency personnel went to the home, where the man was found dead. Officers from Yorkton, Punnichy and Regina assisted with the investigation which was originally labeled as a suspicious death.
Police are now identifying the murder victim as 53-year-old Martin Raymond Oochoo from Muskowekswan.
Janet Kurek of Regina was taken into custody and charged. She will appear in Regina Provincial Court on April 1 at 2:00 p.m.
An autopsy is scheduled in the next few days to determine exactly how Oochoo died.
