City hall invites residents’ feedback at open house

Anyone who has questions or comments about why Regina city services work the way they do is invited to raise them in person with those in charge at city hall.

The idea behind the event called ‘Conversations with the City’ is to build more understanding with the public about various city services.

Regina Mayor Michael Fougere described the event as an opportunity to provide information about services and priorities in advance of preparing the budget.

“It’s not about what’s in the budget as much as these are the sorts of issues that we face in terms of the programs and services that we provide and what we see as our priorities and get some comments back from the public,” Fougere said Monday.

He noted the event will not be done in a lecture style, but will feature senior administrators set up at various stations around the city hall cafeteria on the main level.

“There will be no formal presentation and feedback, it’s just that people can walk around and have conversations and notes will be taken from people and they’ll be passed on to city council,” Fougere explained.

Some examples of the topics set to be featured include recreational programs and the priority of major infrastructure projects around the city.

The event runs between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday evening and free parking will be available on a first come, first serve basis in the parkade behind city hall.
