Six Regina teenagers, believed to be responsible for a bunch of property crimes, are now facing a total of 62 charges.
On Wednesday, police spotted a truck, believed to be stolen, occupied by two 16-year-olds and four 15-year-olds. Police say the truck had a number of bicycles in the back, and the youths left the truck and rode the bikes toward 2nd Avenue North. Officers then checked the truck’s plate to confirm it was stolen. The six youths were located and arrested shortly after.
Police say after the arrests, a number of other stolen items were seized including an iPad, laptop, and speaker system. Police confirm the truck was stolen in Moose Jaw on Saturday.
Police believe the suspects were involved in several thefts from auto, thefts of other vehicles, a break and enter, and thefts of gasoline between March 30 and April 6.
The six suspects cannot be named because of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. All of them made their first court appearance on Thursday.
Police believe most of the stolen items were left unlocked or unsecured.
