After more than a month on the picket lines, workers at the Moose Jaw Co-op will be back on the job Thursday.
The Co-op announced in a news release that it’s reached a deal with the workers’ union, UFCW Local 1400.
One of the most contentious issues in the dispute was the wage scale, in which new employees would be paid less than current employees.
The Co-op said it needed to scale wages to stay competitive with other businesses.
The union wasn’t able to get rid of the scale, but in the deal agreed to Tuesday night, the difference between new and current wages was reduced.
“We’re looking forward to returning to ‘business as usual’ and offering our community the high level of service our Co-op and employees are known for,” Gerry Onyskevitch, General Manager of Moose Jaw Co-op, said in the release.
Workers had been off the job for 36 days.
