Sales of petroleum and natural gas drilling rights are the latest sign of the impact of low oil prices on the Saskatchewan oil patch.
The April sales raised $3.1 million for the province, down from $5.1 million from the February sale.
Still, the province says the per hectare prices remains well ahead of Alberta and B.C., which they say should mean Saskatchewan will be in a good position when and if prices rebound.
The land sales are for drilling rights on Crown land.
The Estevan area received the most bids at $2.6 million. The highest price paid for a single parcel was $1.1 million for a lease west of Estevan.
