RCMP say details of Tisdale tragedy won't be made public

Details of an investigation into a tragic murder-suicide in Tisdale, Sask. last year will not be released, according to RCMP.

On April 22, 2015, Latasha Gosling and three children, all under the age of nine, were found dead in a home in Tisdale. The bodies were discovered at Wicks’ Mobile Home Park, where the family lived.

The man suspected of the killings was found dead in Prince Albert with an unharmed baby.

“We recognize the public’s desire to learn the details of a tragedy. In this instance it is information we cannot share,” RCMP said in a statement Friday.

Police said all major crime investigations are treated the same as investigators work to determine cause of death, who suspects are and rule out any involvement by other people.

On Friday, RCMP said they do not believe there are additional suspects and don’t anticipate laying any criminal charges relating to case.

Because there won’t be criminal charges, and therefore no trial, specific details relating to the case will not be made public.

Police also added they will not be releasing details or updates regarding the children involved in the investigation.

RCMP issued the following statement Friday:

We recognize the public’s desire to learn the details of a tragedy. In this instance it is information we cannot share. Our investigators and support units have worked tirelessly to ensure all aspects of this investigation are considered and examined to their full potential.”
