The latest search for Troy Napope didn’t last long before investigators found what they believe to be the man’s remains.
Napope, 23, was reported missing June 6, 2015 after he was last seen at a party in Prince Albert on May 27. In November 2015, RCMP said Napope’s case was deemed a murder.
At 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, another search began in the case, this time west of the Saskatchewan Penitentiary.
At 9 a.m., the underwater recovery team found human remains in a slough on private property. While an autopsy still has to be done on Friday, investigators believe the remains are that of Napope.
First-degree murder charges have been laid against two men in the case, Skylar Patrick Bird and Braidy Chase Vermette; Vermette was recaptured following a recent escape from custody in Prince Albert.
