After a week of freezing rain, fog, frost and light snow, most of southern Saskatchewan is being told to brace for frigidly cold temperatures Wednesday night and Thursday.
According to Environment Canada the temperature is expected to drop to around -20 C with a wind chill of -31 C in and around Regina.
Environment Canada meteorologist Natalie Hasell said the conditions pose the risk of frostbite to exposed skin within 15 to 30 minutes.
There is good news in the forecast for the weekend.
“It’s another quick blast of true winter but then we’ll come back to seasonal and then actually warmer than normal by the time we get to the weekend,” Hasell said.
The normal daytime temperature for this time of year is around -7 C.
