White Butte RCMP have arrested and charged a 32-year-old Regina man for stealing a Canada Post van from the lot while the driver was still inside loading it early Wednesday morning.
The driver was fortunately not hurt after being thrown from the back of the van when the vehicle sped off as he was in the back loading parcels around 5:40 a.m.
White Butte RCMP caught up to the suspect after the same van hit the ditch on Highway 46 east of the city at 7: 15 a.m.
Christopher Parchomchuk of Regina is facing charges for possession of stolen property over $5,000 and obstructing a police officer.
He’s due back in provincial court on Dec. 17, 2018.
Both police forces are continuing to investigate the crime looking, for witnesses and video.
