A Regina teenager is facing a charge after a vehicle was damaged and three schools were placed under secure-the-building mode Monday.
Around 2:50 p.m. Monday, Regina police received a call from a staff member at Judge Bryant School — located on Dewdney Avenue between Brown Street and Bentley Drive in the east end. The person indicated someone had smashed the window of a vehicle and ran away. The caller stated the person had an object in his hand and one witness thought it might be a gun.
Judge Bryant School, along with two others nearby, were placed into secure-the-building mode.
A short time later, police found a 15-year-old boy and arrested him. Officers did not find a gun with the suspect.
The 15-year-old, who cannot be named because of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is facing a charge of mischief under $5,000. He makes his first court appearance in June.
