'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
Flames initially reported as a grass fire turned into something bigger for Saskatoon fire crews Thursday evening.
Around 11:40 p.m., firefighters responded to a blaze outside the city located west on Highway 14 to Range Road 3072, then five kilometres north. RCMP were also called to the scene.
Officials said when crews arrived, they found the grass and brush fire – along with a semi-tractor and dump trailer in flames.
Crews focused first on stopping the spread of the grass fire before tackling the burning vehicles.
Things were under control within one hour and an all-clear was given when the fire was extinguished shortly afterwards.
No injuries were reported.
The vehicles were a total loss, with no official estimate at this time.
