The Quebec Nordiques should return to the NHL. Some believe it should be at the expense of the Florida Panthers moving or the Hurricanes or the Coyotes.
How about the Ottawa Senators?
I’ve had enough of Eugene Melnyk as an owner of an NHL team. Melnyk sued a former business partner who has now counter-sued and in the suit outed Melnyk’s group for not paying bills on time and that Melnyk doesn’t have the money that he says he has.
It’s another black mark on the Senators who haven’t had a great year in the media and it started about this time last year when Melnyk threatened to move the Senators from Ottawa.
But you know what, it’s time the NHL starts to put pressure – if they haven’t already – on getting Melnyk out of the league.
He is sinking a fan base in a Canadian market who had something good going but dysfunction seems to be the only way Melnyk knows how to run a hockey team.
If you’re only as good as your weakest member, the NHL can get stronger by doing business elsewhere.
