Power was knocked out in Regina’s warehouse district Friday morning due to a collision.
SaskPower sent out a Tweet at 4:49 a.m. saying a crash had caused an outage for Dewdney Avenue to North Central, as well as parts of Albert Street. By 6:30 a.m., power had been restored to customers west of Albert Street, but was remained off for the Warehouse District. Power was fully restored shortly after 12 p.m.
The collision itself happened on 8th Avenue between Cornwall Street and Scarth Street. An orange Pontiac had hit a power pole, breaking the pole at its base. By 7 a.m., police officers were still on scene of the crash and SaskPower crews began work to restore power.
Police say officers arrived at the scene of the collision to find the vehicle unoccupied. Police are still trying to locate the driver.
